Stranger The Fiction

Marie Lynnes created a varied program for 5th March at Speak Easy Toastmasters, including two visitors and three club members.  The first speech of the evening was given by Helen Buckley. Helen is a member of the Nice And Easy Toastmasters Club. She won best speaker with a speech entitled, “The Munster Summer Special Olympics.”  Her speech was evaluated by Helsa Giles. The second speaker of the evening was Tom O’Connor. His speech, “A Line For All Seasons“ was evaluated by Kieran Butler. The third speaker, Michael Buckley is a member of An Fáilte Toastmasters. His speech entitled “Feeding The World” was evaluated by Brendan Foley, who won best evaluator. The fourth speaker, Club President, Liam Flynn delivered a speech entitled, “Stranger Than Fiction,” which was evaluated by Margaret O’Regan. The fifth speaker, Angela Sheehan, delivered a moving speech entitled, “Monologue,” which was evaluated by Pat Sexton.

The Toastmaster for the evening, Mary Moynihan was assisted by Bridie O’Connell as Time Keeper and Marlene O’Mahony as Topicsmaster. The role of General Evaluator was fulfilled by Anne Buckley. Margaret O’Regan won the award for best table topic response.

Thursday 19th March will be our club competition for the International Speech Contest and the Evaluation Contest. These contests showcase the talent that exists within our club, both in delivering and evaluating speeches. It will be a very interesting evening and a great experience for all those who enter.
